Vida Colon became interested in esthetics after experiencing dramatic improvements on her own skin from facial treatments and using quality skin care products. Having acne and skin sensitivities inspired her to experiment with different facial treatments leading to a curiosity and passion towards skin care. As a Latina woman, she has naturally focused on skin care products and treatments for darker skin tones. She received her certification in esthetics from the Jean Madeline Aveda Institute in 2005, where she completed an extended six-hundred hour program, which taught her full body spa services, facial bone structure, skin care, as well as skin anatomy and diseases. She worked as an esthetician at a spa in Philadelphia, and then decided to pursue medical esthetics to expand her knowledge. From 2006-2013, she worked for physicians at two Medical Spa & Wellness Centers. While working there, she developed expertise in performing laser hair removal, skin tightening, laser skin rejuvenation, cellulite reduction, IPL treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion. She was promoted Aesthetic Director where she managed and trained other estheticians. Her experience and training with a physicians taught her how to safely treat skin of all colors. At Rescue, Ms. Hernandez hopes to bring the same level of professionalism to her clients. She believes it is a blessing to be able to make a difference in people’s lives and to help them look and feel better about themselves. She is excited to be a part of the Rescue team and hopes to bring her expertise to Rescue.
